RECOIN project

RECOIN project

The main goal of the RECOIN project is to provide SMEs in the Uusimaa region with the resources and support they need for growth and internationalization by helping them develop their innovation abilities, know-how, awareness of the market situation, knowledge of future trends and technology as well as their network of contacts. We want to give the participating companies opportunities to innovate products and services that are outside their core business area or home market – and the courage to create new initiatives.

In the RECOIN project, we will create a systematic process aimed at boosting the SMEs’ growth and internationalization by developing their innovation activities. This is achieved by making the knowledge that major companies (our mentor companies) have about the markets and the future, backed by the latest research, available to the SMEs operating in Uusimaa. We will strengthen their innovation abilities by expanding their knowledge of future technologies and helping them identify European growth and development platforms together with the mentor companies so that they can acquire more development resources.
During the project, we will actively sift through SMEs in the Uusimaa region, boost their innovation activities, encourage their growth and internationalization and do our best to remove any bottlenecks that are preventing growth. The latest information on markets and future trends will be collected by listening to the mentor companies’ advice and by interviewing researchers.

Through brainstorming, innovation sessions and hackathons, this cutting-edge knowledge will be relayed to the SMEs in an interesting and concrete way, and the companies will also receive information about internationalization financing options.
As a result of this project, the core competences and business skills of the participating companies will improve. The agile use of scanning techniques and swarm intelligence will become a permanent part of their strategy process. While participating, they will perform surveys or start operations in new market areas or business sectors. They will innovate new or improved products, production methods, technologies or services. In the long term, they will be better equipped to operate competitively in the international markets.

The main sponsor of the RECOIN project is the European Regional Development Fund, ERDF. The project’s implementation period will be 1.10.2019 – 31.10.2021.
